Our first event of 2017 was Snowdrop Sunday, held on the afternoon of 26 February.
We welcomed around 400 visitors during the two hour event in spite of the cold and windy conditions. We were also honoured to show the Mayor of Redcar and Cleveland around the priory and gardens during the afternoon. As usual refreshments were very popular. An amazing total of almost £300 was raised during the afternoon.
There was further interest given by the presence of Mike and Gel Heagney who sold snowdrops and other early flowering plants. The deep blue miniature irises proved especially popular. Thanks go to Mike and Gel for taking part and for their generous donations of ferns and other plants that we will be planting in the woodland gardens.
Thank you to everyone who contributed in any way to the afternoon and who helped to make it such a successful afternoon, we could not have done it without you!
